Join us for an unforgettable weekend walking the historic Neolithic Trail in Salisbury around Stonehenge, where mystery and legend meet breath-taking landscapes.
Over two days and two nights, you’ll journey through rolling hills and megalithic sites that reveal the stories of our ancestors. Along the way, our expert guides will share fascinating insights into the mysteries of the Neolithic people who once walked these very paths.
Whether you're a history lover or a nature enthusiast, this trail offers something for everyone. Enjoy peaceful countryside walks, stunning views, and the chance to connect with the past in a meaningful way. This weekend promises a unique blend of adventure, discovery, history and relaxation.
Trip Details:
Date: 11-13 April 2025
Simply pay the deposit at the time of booking. The remainder is due no later than 60 days prior to the start date (11th Feb 2025). If you hold a Boots On Adventures Loyalty card you will receive 10% off of the cost of this adventure.
Accommodation:
We will be staying at a campsite a short distance from Stonehenge itself. Your accommodation will be in spacious 3 person tents. We will issue one tent per person unless you have elected to share with a friend/partner.

A fully guided 2-day Neolithic trail experience, led by the Boots On Adventures team
2 nights camping under the stars in one of our spacious tents
All meals provided from Friday evening to Sunday morning
Entry to Stonehenge
Itinerary in brief:
11th April
You will be greeted with a friendly welcome at the campsite from 5pm on Friday evening where you will have a chance to meet your hosts and the other guests. In the evening, we will enjoy a group meal, a roaring campfire* as well as evening entertainment.
12th April
After a breakfast we will head out and walk the Neolithic trail through ancient Neolithic sites around the area, hearing stories, legends and myths of the local area. A packed lunch will be provided for the day.
In the evening, we will return to the campsite where there will be time to relax, enjoy a meal cooked over the campfire in Dutch ovens* and campfire treats*.
13th April
After breakfast we will leave the campsite in the morning and visit Stonehenge, a world-famous heritage site before heading home for mid-day.
*Please note if the weather is wet, we will supply an alternative meal using stoves. Group shelters will be erected during social periods.
What should I bring?
• Suitable walking attire
• A Sleeping bag (or similar)
• A torch for the evening (a head torch is best as it leads your hands free)
• Waterproof clothing and thermals (you never know what the weather will be like)
• A full Water bottle 1.5-2ltr is recommended
• Any personal Snacks
• Personal medication (Let us know confidentially about any medical conditions)
• Sit Mat (optional)
• Personal First Aid Kit

Getting there
By Road: The campsite is approximately 13 miles from both Salisbury and Devizes.
By Train: The nearest railway station is in Salisbury, making it convenient for those traveling by train. The station is around 13-mile taxi ride from the campsite
By Bus: The campsite is 5 minutes’ walk from bus Route 2.
Campsite Amenities:
Toilets & Shower Facilities: These are checked regularly and deep cleaned daily to ensure they are kept to the highest standard
Laundry Room: Consisting of washing machine (£4) and Tumble dryer (50p = 15mins) as well as a large sink for handwashing

Getting around
We will be lift sharing to any sites, parking is not included in the price.
Dogs
Although we welcome friendly dogs on most of our adventures. Please note that there are some restrictions within Stonehenge itself. If you are planning on bringing your dog we ask you to check the Stonehenge website for more information before booking. Please also note that we do not supply food or bowls for dogs, so we ask you to bring these with you.
Dogs Welcome at the campsite but must be on Leads Whilst on Site.
Travel Insurance
It is a requirement of booking this holiday that you have suitable travel insurance which covers you for the activity and emergency evacuation and hospital care.
