Description

An intimate performance of Wallace Shawn's capitalist takedown, The Fever. Seasoned performer Taru Sinclair brings a blistering reading of a piece that challenges and engages. Raising funds for Manchester Refugee Support Network.

Set in the midst of the eponymous fever and originally shown in living rooms by appointment only, we find our narrator in a country far from their own, confronted with the political persecution and human exploitation they are usually shielded from. As an audience we are drawn into considering the narrator's dilemma; how do we find a morally consistent way to live when faced with injustice?

"Artists who create works of art that inspire sympathy and good values do not change the life of the poor"

To call this piece thought-provoking is an understatement but Sinclair still manages to bring lightness and wit to a blistering work.

Doors: 7.30pm Performance: 8.00pm

All ticket revenue goes directly to Manchester Refugee Support Network
