"You’re a Good Girl” is an exhibition by Llinos Owen that brings together textile tapestry works and a collection of drawings exploring the social expectations imposed on women and the conversations surrounding them. Through intimate and playful imagery, the exhibition reflects on the pressure to conform to traditional milestones such as marriage and motherhood, instead celebrating youth, freedom, and choice.

“You’re a Good Girl” exhibits imagery inspired by club culture, personal relationships and intimate snapshots of youth. The works developed from by a piece of writing by the artist, reflecting on the guilt and anxieties that can accompany prioritising youth and personal freedom while resisting societal expectations, particularly when observing others move through life at a different pace. With personal nods to her friendships, experiences, and memories, the artist captures moments of intimacy and escapism with her imagery, evoking a sense of nostalgia and universal connection.

The exhibition launches on Friday January 23rd 6-9pm, and will be on display until February 17th. The opening night will take place in SEESAW's cafe gallery, and is free to enter. The bar will be open for the night, and the venue is fully accessible. Access is via the sliding doors on the cobbled street. The exhibition can then continue to be viewed within the cafe's opening hours, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4pm.
