Come and join us on Trans Day of Visibility for a monoprinting workshop using old risograph masters, with artist Rudy Valley!
For those who don't know what risograph printing is, it's basically a big machine that is a cross between photocopying and screenprinting. There are big tubes of ink and each of them has an A3 bit of tissue paper like screen, and everytime you print a new colour or design a new "screen" has to be made. To make the most of ink and be as eco friendly as possible I'll be running a workshop where we use these masters instead of regular printing ink!
Monoprinting is designed for one off results, quick printing with little preparation, meaning you can make as many original prints as you like. The following colours include: black, yellow, teal, light blue, pink, green and red. There is no set theme for the workshop, however this workshop is designed to bring the trans community and our allies together on Trans Day of Visibility, and is open for everyone!
This workshop will operate on a drop-in basis throughout the evening, feel free to stay as long or as little as you’d like. SEESAW is a wheelchair accessible venue with gender neutral toilets, and refreshments can be purchased from the bar. Access is via the sliding doors on the cobbled street. Materials will be provided. At the end of the session you will walk away with a series of original monoprints created by you and an evening well spent with community.
SEESAW is an arts and culture venue and workspace located in 86 Princess Street, our aim is to connect with local artists to grow the creative scene in the North West.
