A life drawing performance, entangling clay and bodies with artists Lula Braimbridge and Martha Barr. The artists will explore the exchange of energy between body and material, using processes to think, evolve, connect and intuitively move.
While Martha grapples with the raw unpredictability of clay embracing its weight, spillage, and resistance, Lula becomes the support and disruptor, attempting to find solace within. She looks for comfort as Martha builds an ever-morphing skin that shifts, collapses, tears, and reconstructs around Lula’s body. As time passes, clay becomes the force that brings them together.
We invite you to respond in the space however you choose: to draw, write, reflect or witness at your own pace. Open to anyone and everyone.
This performance is hosted by the brilliant Bobbie Wilson from DMZ Studios. Basic materials provided, however, feel free to bring your own.
This class is suitable for all abilities and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, get in touch if you have any specific requirements.
